Things I've learned in the first 24 hours...

-A 10 hour and 40 minute plane ride is even longer with a kicking and screaming little boy behind you.
-Buenos Aires is a HUGE city...HUGE. Bigger than I thought and I have not even seen it all.
-The toilet seats here are square. (But you can flush the toilet paper!)
-Dogs are everywhere.
-They seem to obey the traffic lights better than in other foreign countries...the odds are with me for not getting ran over :)
-I guess it is going to be 65 degrees in my room when I wake up...
-My host mama is crazy...in a good way!
-Elevators are the scariest thing I have encountered so far.

BUT i love it! More to write soon! And pictures!!! :)

Summer is flying by......

The summer is going by so quick!! I leave for my trip in 14 days!!! Crazy!! I should start packing soon....

My last day at work in the Zoology Department at OSU was June 30th.  I can't believe my four years working there is already over.  I will miss them all!  It will be really different starting school at Texas State in the Spring and having to find a new job.

On the 1st, my Mom, Chad, Bella (the dog), and I loaded up and headed to Missouri to reunite with the rest of the fam for the 4th!  It was a wonderful trip!! It has been so long since our entire family has been able to get together and I wish we could do it more often.  We went to the Alumni gathering at Eminence High School where my mom, aunts, and papa all went to school, floated the river, fished a little, cooked out, and did about $350 worth of fireworks! It was a great 4th of July!

After our trip to Missouri, I moved home from Stillwater for the last time.  I will miss it!!  But, I am glad to have time to visit with family before my big trip.  My brother, Dillon, was here for a visit so I got to spend a few days with him which I enjoyed.  On Saturday, we went with our Dad, Lisa, and Blake to Meers (amazing burgers and fried green tomatoes!) for lunch and then went bowling in Lawton.  And I may be the world's worst bowler.  The first game I bowled a 71 and the second game I bowled a 76...so at least I improved, right?  But, I still lost both games!  No surprise there!

Sweet Summertime!

Well Graduation Day has come and gone but it is a day I will certainly never forget!  I love my family and friends so much and I am so glad they were there to share that day with me!
Now, I am just enjoying the summertime!  I went home for a week after graduation to just hang out and see family before coming back to Stillwater to work through the end of June.  But it isn't just work and then play...I am preparing for my huge trip that I leave for in July! (..64 days!!!) I don't really know how I am going to approach packing for five months to include winter and summer clothes and everything I will be taking but I guess I will tackle that task when the time comes!

For Memorial Day weekend, Lauren & I are going to my Aunt Julie's house to lay in her pool and soak up the sunshine!  We bought Lady Gaga's new CD and a pack of Mike's Hard Margarita for the occasion :) may not sound like much but we are pretty excited about it! It will be much better than laying next to the neighborhood pool that I'm sure will be full of everyone and their dogs with their loud music, beer bongs, and cigarette smoke....

PANIC!! Graduation day is almost here!

Taking a break from writing my last papers of my college career here at OSU!  I can't believe Graduation is in 4 days!!!  It is just so crazy!  I feel like I just got here and here I am leaving again.  Needless to say though, college has be a much more fulfilling, rewarding, encouraging, and memorable experience than my four years at Duncan High School.  The people that I have met along the way over the past four years have forever changed me and the struggles I have gone through have shaped me.  I will cherish the memories I have made here at OSU as an AXO/Zoology Dept. work study/Zoology & Pre-vet then Spanish major/Cancer survivor in Stillwater, America for the rest of my life!  I wish that more of my family could make it for the big day but my prayers go out to my Papa and Uncle Bill in hopes that they will feel better soon and I look forward to seeing everyone that does get to attend!!

OKAY! T-4 days! Gotta get back to those papers and studying!!

My first blog entry!

Just getting ready for my trip!  It's in 97 days!! (Not that I'm already counting down though!)  I just need to have a blog and know how to use it before I take flight to Argentina and Peru for 5 months!!  So this is my practice post...here it goes! :)
